Healhy goal behind gift to sports club

Maybury’s Woking Tigers, a not-for-profit volunteer-led club founded in 2010, which already runs three adult football teams, a cricket team and even a Twenty20 cricket league, can now give children the opportunity to stay fit and healthy thanks to Woking Asian Business Forum (WABF), GlucoRx and Surrey County Council.

GlucoRx, the country’s second-largest supplier of quality diabetic products to the NHS, is sponsoring the playing kit for all eight teams, while the WABF, led by Shahid Azeem, is providing essential equipment such as goals, footballs, training kit and corner flags.

These were purchased with the assistance of Aldershot Town FC, who, through its relationship with sports equipment supplier ProDirect, was able to obtain a discount on kit costing more than £15,000.
