£10,000 of serious support via a lovely journey from Woking to Pakistan
In aid of the Pakistan flood relief operation WABF leaped into action in October and hosted a community fundraising dinner.
Nearly a hundred people turned out in their glad rags to support this charity dinner for which the venue, HG Wells in Woking, was donated.
TKC contributed magnificently by providing a memorable, sit down, three course meal.
Samina Baber – Cake by Samina B – donated the most beautiful handmade cake for which we still hear great comment.
Entertainment topped off the whole event with a moving and inspirational speech from Olympic Champion, Dr Vicky Hansford and the evening ended with gales of laughter graciously provided by BBC Sports commentator, Garry Richardson.
Even with all the enjoyment of the event no one lost sight of what we were there for. Nearly £10,000 was raised to support the building of four new houses in the flood affected areas of Pakistan.
WABF is deeply grateful for all who gave their goods and talents so generously on the night.
